Saipem and Petrofund partner to develop Namibia’s oil and gas skills

Saipem and the Petroleum Training and Education Fund (Petrofund) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance local skills within Namibia’s emerging upstream oil and gas sector.

The agreement, signed on 22 September 2026, establishes a framework for workforce development, knowledge transfer, and training initiatives. The partnership aims to prepare Namibian professionals, including university and technical graduates, for opportunities in the petroleum industry through on-the-job training, internships, scholarships, and technical training programs.

Key components of the collaboration include mentoring, curriculum development, and research to build a sustainable talent pipeline capable of supporting Namibia’s expanding energy sector.
