Saitama man arrested for stealing 900,000 yen in doorstep deliveries

A 30-year-old man has been arrested in Saitama City's Omiya Ward on suspicion of stealing approximately 900,000 yen worth of goods left at doorsteps for delivery. The suspect, identified as Akisato Nakamura, allegedly stole 15 cardboard boxes containing 168 items, including anime character figures.

Nakamura reportedly sold some of the stolen items at a local recycling shop. He admitted to the allegations, stating he needed money after losing his job. Police are investigating whether he is linked to over a dozen similar package thefts reported in the area since July.
