Sakarya and Bursa roll out major water infrastructure projects
The Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality’s water and sewage directorate (SASKİ) has begun an 8‑kilometre wastewater pipeline in the Karapınar neighbourhood, a project funded with 60 million Turkish lira to improve long‑term sewage disposal and protect the environment. Local officials praised the investment as a step toward a healthier, more sustainable community.
In Bursa’s Yenişehir district, the State Hydraulic Works (DSİ) announced a tender for a 4,000‑metre drilling program aimed at detailed geological and geophysical surveying. The electronic procurement process will award the contract to a qualified Turkish firm, which must complete drilling, injection, and related studies within 120 calendar days, providing a data base for future engineering works in the area.
