Salamanca to invest up to 10 million euros in fairgrounds modernization

The Diputación de Salamanca has announced the third phase of a transformation project for the Recinto Ferial, with an estimated investment of between 8.5 and 10 million euros. President Javier Iglesias stated the project is a major step toward modernizing the facilities to host more year-round activity.

The most significant intervention will focus on the Central Pavilion, receiving approximately 3 million euros for a complete roof renovation, new climate control and ventilation systems, electrical and communication upgrades, and the installation of solar panels. Additionally, the circular pavilions will receive 2 million euros for courtyard roofing and landscaping, while 1.2 million euros are allocated to livestock sheds.

Other planned expenditures include 1.43 million euros for exterior works, 422,895 euros for the Lonja, and 200,000 euros for the Exhibition Ring. The project also aims to enhance technological capabilities through expanded fiber optics, Wi-Fi networks, streaming points, and sensorization. The works are expected to take roughly two years, with some primary improvements targeted for the next Salamaq edition.
