Salamanca fairgrounds modernization project

Overview

The Diputación de Salamanca has announced the third phase of a transformation project for the Recinto Ferial, involving an estimated investment of between 8.5 and 10 million euros. President Javier Iglesias described the project as a major step toward modernizing the facilities to facilitate more year-round activity.

Key components of the renovation include a 3 million euro overhaul of the Central Pavilion, covering roof renovation, climate control, ventilation, electrical upgrades, and solar panel installation. An additional 2 million euros is designated for courtyard roofing and landscaping at the circular pavilions, while 1.2 million euros is allocated to livestock sheds.

Further expenditures include 1.43 million euros for exterior works, 422,895 euros for the Lonja, and 200,000 euros for the Exhibition Ring. The project also intends to improve technological infrastructure through expanded fiber optics, Wi-Fi networks, and sensorization. The works are expected to span approximately two years, with primary improvements targeted for the next Salamaq edition.
