Salerno: Controversy over undocumented reopening of SP288 road

Provincial councilors from the Fratelli d'Italia group have raised concerns regarding the sudden reopening of the SP288 road in the Cava de' Tirreni territory. The road, which connects several local districts including Marini, Alessia, Arcara, Santi Quaranta, and Dupino, had been closed since January 30 following a retaining wall collapse and significant roadbed erosion.

Despite the scheduled safety works not being set to begin until October, the road was recently reopened and construction signage was removed. Critics note that no official documentation or decrees revoking the previous closure have been published on the Albo Pretorio. Councilors Antonio Somma and Modesto Del Mastro have submitted a written inquiry to President Giuseppe Parente, questioning the lack of consolidation work and the potential risk to resident safety.
