Infrastructure and road safety issues in Campania

In Salerno, provincial councilors from the Fratelli d'Italia group have questioned the sudden reopening of the SP288 road in the Cava de' Tirreni territory. The road had been closed since January 30 due to a retaining wall collapse and erosion. Critics noted that construction signage was removed and the road was reopened despite scheduled safety works not being set to begin until October, with no official decrees published to revoke the previous closure.

In Positano, the city council held an extraordinary session regarding the SP 425 provincial road to discuss the legitimacy of emergency spending required to secure a landslide area. Meanwhile, in Naples, authorities convened the Observatory for the Monitoring and Planning of Road Accident Interventions following a fatal accident on the SS 145 Sorrentina. Local officials and representatives from Anas met to examine necessary infrastructure interventions to reduce high accident rates on the stretch between Sorrento and Castellammare di Stabia.
