Salman Khan and sister Alvira summoned in Chandigarh jewellery fraud case

A Chandigarh district court has issued summons to Bollywood actor Salman Khan, his sister Alvira Khan Agnihotri, and the directors of Style and Content Jewellery Pvt Ltd over a cheating complaint filed by businessman Arun Gupta. Gupta alleges he invested around three crore rupees in a Being Human jewellery showroom in Manimajra, Chandigarh, after being promised strong brand support and a personal endorsement by Khan, promises that were not fulfilled. He also says the supply store for the jewellery line had been closed since February 2020, leading to inventory problems and financial losses.

Style and Content Jewellery Pvt Ltd has denied that Salman Khan was directly involved in the 2018 franchise agreement, stating that the Being Human brand was licensed to the company in 2015 and that the operational responsibilities rested solely with the licencee. The court has set October 5 as the date for the parties to appear and respond to the allegations.
