Salman Khan Being Human jewellery franchise dispute
Overview
A Chandigarh court has issued summons and notices to Bollywood actor Salman Khan, his sister Alvira Khan Agnihotri, and the Being Human Foundation regarding a franchise dispute and allegations of fraud.
The case was initiated by businessman Arun Gupta, who alleges he suffered financial losses after investing approximately three crore rupees in a Being Human brand jewellery showroom in Manimajra. Gupta claims that promised brand support and personal endorsements from Khan were not fulfilled, and that the jewellery line’s supply store had been closed since February 2020.
In response to the complaint, the court of Judicial Magistrate First Class Dr. Ambika Sharma issued notices under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). The court also issued notices to directors of Style Quotient Jewellery Private Limited, Santosh Srivastava and Prasad Bindu Madhav Kapde. While the company has previously denied Khan’s direct involvement in the 2018 franchise agreement, the court has scheduled the next hearing for October 5, 2026.
