A salmonella outbreak at the Hospital General de México Dr. Eduardo Liceaga has affected 135 resident and postgraduate doctors. Health Secretary David Kershenobich reported that 41 individuals required hospitalization, though all remain in stable condition. Authorities suspect that eggs may have been the source of the infection.

The Internal Control Body (OIC) of the Ministry of Health has launched an investigation to determine the administrative responsibilities of public servants and the catering company, Restaurantes Grogi SA de CV, which holds a contract valued at up to 112.3 million pesos. The resident doctors' dining hall has been closed since September 1st.

In response to the incident, the federal Secretary of Health has ordered urgent hygiene reviews of food services across various public health institutions, including IMSS, ISSSTE, IMSS-Bienestar, and Pemex, to prevent similar sanitary risks.
