Genoa International Boat Show to feature 1,000 vessels

The 66th Genoa International Boat Show, organized by Confindustria Nautica, is scheduled to take place from October 1 to 6. The event features over 1,000 vessels, including 215 new models, representing 45 countries across five continents. Key trends for this edition include a 4% increase in the water layout and a significant 28% rise in multihull units. There is also a notable emphasis on larger vessels, with the average size of major units in each segment increasing by 14.1% compared to 2025.

Confindustria Nautica President Piero Formenti highlighted the economic weight of the sector, noting an industry turnover of 8.6 billion euros, adding 13 billion euros in value, and employing nearly 170,000 people. Approximately 90% of production is destined for international markets. To support global outreach, ICE (Italian Trade Agency) is doubling its investment in international operator programs.

In addition to the Genoa event, the Blue Economy is seeing increased collaboration across Italy. The Salone Nautico di Puglia (SNIM) has announced a partnership with the Pescare Show in Rimini to promote visibility and economic development within the maritime sector. Regional leaders, including Liguria's Marco Bucci, emphasized that maritime infrastructure investments, such as the Waterfront di Levante, are essential for supporting the industry's growth and tourism.
