Salou mayor moves forward on coastal walk completion and new C-31B roundabouts
Mayor Pere Granados of Salou met with the Spanish Government’s sub‑delegate in Tarragona, Elisabet Romero, and the director of the Provincial Coast Services, Teresa Rodríguez, to review progress on the two remaining sections of the Camí de Costa – Penya Tallada and Cala Morisca. The officials agreed to accelerate administrative procedures so the coastal walk, a flagship environmental and tourism project, can be finished and opened to the public.
In a separate meeting, Granados and Generalitat Mobility Secretary Manel Nadal discussed a convention to fund and build two new roundabouts on the C‑31B road linking Salou and Tarragona – one at the Xalets de Salou and another on the avenue of Pedreres. The roundabouts are presented as strategic measures to improve traffic safety, drainage and connectivity, with the Pedreres design already drafted and a tender expected by 2027. Both meetings signal a coordinated push by municipal and regional authorities to advance Salou’s infrastructure agenda.
