Saltillo and Toluca authorities implement public safety and utility measures

Municipal authorities in Saltillo and Toluca are implementing various public service and enforcement measures. In Saltillo, the “Tómala Cochino” campaign continues, with environmental police recently detaining a man for dumping debris in a stream in the Loma Linda neighborhood. Additionally, the city has conducted operations against public alcohol consumption, resulting in 24 recent arrests and a total of 239 detainees over five weekends. Infrastructure maintenance is also underway, including bridge joint repairs on Emilio Arizpe Boulevard to improve road safety.

In Toluca, Mayor Ricardo Moreno reported that the municipality has avoided a major water crisis following a failure at the Cutzamala System pumping plant. By deploying new wells and coordinating with the Comisión del Agua del Estado de México (CAEM), the local government is working to restore normal service to over 250,000 residents. The municipality has also deployed water tankers operating in 24-hour shifts to support affected areas, including schools and hospitals.
