Saltillo opens nominations for Manuel Acuña Award

The Saltillo Municipal Government has announced that the deadline for submitting nominations for the 2026 edition of the Manuel Acuña Award is Friday, August 21. The award recognizes individuals or groups who have significantly contributed to the creation and promotion of art and culture within Saltillo.

To be eligible for the ‘En Vida’ category, candidates must be Mexican nationals, either born in Saltillo or residents of the municipality for at least five consecutive years, and must not have previously received the award. Additionally, nominees must not be listed in the State Registry of Persons Sanctioned for Violence Against Women or the State Registry of Delinquent Alimony Debtors of the Judiciary of the State of Coahuila.

Proposals can be submitted in person at the offices of the Secretariat of the City Council at the Saltillo Municipal Presidency between 08:00 and 15:00, Monday through Friday, or online via the official municipal portal. The awards will be presented in November during an event organized by the Municipal Institute of Culture.
