Sinaloa Governor Graciela Domínguez reshuffles state cabinet
Interim Governor Graciela Domínguez Nava has implemented a significant reshuffle of her state cabinet in Sinaloa. The reorganization includes the appointment of Wilfredo Véliz Figueroa as Secretary of Administration and Finance, replacing Joaquín Alberto Landeros Güicho, and José Manuel Acosta Bernal as Secretary of Public Works, replacing Raúl Montero Zamudio.
Other key appointments include Refugio Álvarez Montaño as Undersecretary of Administration, Marco Antonio Zazueta Zazueta as Undersecretary of Normativity and Registry Information, José Cipriano Serrano as director of the Sinaloense Institute of Physical Educational Infrastructure, and Aline Krystabel Guerra García as director of Labor and Social Welfare. The governor emphasized that these changes are guided by principles of austerity, honesty, and transparency.
The administration's moves have drawn criticism from political leaders. Sergio “Pío” Esquer of Movimiento Ciudadano stated that changing officials does not change the reality of Sinaloa, arguing that the focus should be on measurable results rather than ceremonies. Similarly, César Emiliano Gerardo Lugo, president of the PRI in Sinaloa, criticized the lack of results regarding public security, noting that the state continues to face high levels of violence and insecurity despite the cabinet changes.
