Sinaloa state administration and infrastructure updates

Overview

Interim Governor Graciela Domínguez Nava has initiated several administrative and infrastructural actions in Sinaloa. Initially, the governor implemented a significant cabinet reshuffle, appointing new officials to the positions of Secretary of Administration and Finance and Secretary of Public Works. While the administration stated these changes were guided by “austerity, honesty, and transparency,” political leaders from Movimiento Ciudadano and the PRI criticized the move, arguing that personnel changes do not address the state’s ongoing issues with violence and public security.

Following the administrative reorganization, the governor’s focus shifted toward addressing infrastructure deficits, specifically regarding electrical supply in educational facilities. The administration reported that most of the 86 schools lacking electricity at the start of the school year have been addressed, leaving approximately 10 unresolved cases. In the Ejido 20 de Noviembre community, local authorities and parents have requested expedited state resources to repair the ‘Ángel Flores’ elementary school, which requires an estimated one million pesos to replace its electrical substation and wiring.
