Regional developments in industry and education across Argentina and Uruguay

Various regional developments are underway across Argentina and Uruguay, focusing on industrial cooperation, academic leadership, and scientific entrepreneurship.

In Córdoba, Argentina, Governor Martín Llaryora met with the new leadership of the Unión Industrial de Córdoba (UIC), led by José María Manuali. Discussions centered on improving industrial competitiveness, reducing energy costs, and the potential development of a gas pipeline from Vaca Muerta to the central region. Simultaneously, cooperative and mutual sectors in southeastern Córdoba are launching the PICyM program to provide financing and training for social economy entities.

In Uruguay, the Universidad de la República (Udelar) is addressing regional challenges in the Litoral Norte. Rector Héctor Cancela discussed the university's strategic development and budget needs for 2027, noting a significant gap between requested funds and government allocations.
