Argentina implements El Niño prevention measures in Tucumán and Entre Ríos

Authorities in Argentina are implementing various measures to prepare for the El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENOS) phenomenon. In Tucumán, the provincial government and the Federal Emergency Agency (AFE) have coordinated a plan for the 2026-2027 period, focusing on climate forecasting and risk analysis to mitigate potential emergencies.

In the province of Entre Ríos, the Argentine Delegation to the Salto Grande Mixed Technical Commission has provided a new hydraulic excavator, a truck, and a trailer to strengthen flood prevention capabilities. This equipment is being utilized by the Directorate of Hydraulics and Sanitary Works in coordination with the Municipality of Concordia to perform sanitation and mitigation tasks in vulnerable areas, such as the Manzores stream.

Additionally, Guillermo Marcone has assumed his role as the new Argentine delegate for the Salto Grande Mixed Technical Commission, replacing Juan Carlos Chagas, to support the efficient management of the hydroelectric complex and regional development.
