Salvador Illa reaffirms Catalan support for Ukraine in Kyiv visit

Salvador Illa, President of the Generalitat, met with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha in Kyiv to reaffirm Catalonia’s commitment to humanitarian aid and support for Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.

The meeting focused on expanding cooperation in the energy and health sectors to prepare for the upcoming winter. Illa also expressed support for using frozen Russian assets to strengthen EU aid to Ukraine. Additionally, the President met with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) to formalize an 800,000 euro contribution to the office.
