Salvador to Host Qualify Combat MMA Event and Red Bull Paranauê Capoeira Championship in August

MMA fighter Douglas "Zumbi do Sertão" Puro Osso will compete at the 16th Qualify Combat on 22 August in the Shopping Bela Vista, Salvador, facing local rival Ivan Neves in the fly‑weight (‑57 kg) division. Osso, fresh from a unanimous‑decision win over Valmir Silva at Coliseu Extreme Fight 15 in May, says his preparation focuses on discipline, intensity and technical evolution in both boxing and MMA.

Capoeira champion Pâmella Dandara, a world‑ranked athlete from Goiás, has been selected for the Red Bull Paranauê tournament, the sport’s premier global competition, scheduled for 29 August in the historic Pelourinho district of Salvador. Dandara recounts being forced into capoeira by her mother at age eight, later embracing the art and rising to compete internationally. The Red Bull Paranauê seeks the most technically versatile capoeirista across Angola, Regional and Contemporary styles.
