Salzgitter AG reports H1 2026 profit of €76.3 million
Salzgitter AG reported an encouraging financial performance for the first half of 2026. The group achieved a pre-tax profit of €76.3 million, a significant recovery compared to the €83.8 million loss recorded during the same period in 2025. After-tax results stood at €43.5 million, resulting in basic earnings per share of €0.74.
Key drivers for this performance included a high earnings contribution from the company’s participation in Aurubis AG and improved results across the Steel Production, Trading, and Technology business units. Additionally, the P28 profit improvement program contributed €97 million in savings. Despite these gains, external sales saw a marginal decrease to €4.6 billion from €4.7 billion in the previous year, with geopolitical uncertainties in the Middle East impacting steel-related activities.
Regarding future outlook, analysts have provided various projections for the upcoming quarterly results. Some estimates suggest an average earnings per share of €0.88 for the most recent quarter, with annual revenue expectations for the full fiscal year averaging approximately €9.49 billion.
