Giro di Campania returns to professional cycling after 25 years

The 64th edition of the Giro di Campania is returning to professional cycling after a 25-year hiatus. Scheduled for Sunday, September 20, the UCI 1.1 category race will span 193.1 kilometers, starting at the Reggia di Caserta and concluding in Naples at Piazza del Plebiscito.

Promoted by the Campania Region and the Metropolitan City of Naples, the race aims to showcase the region's cultural and landscape heritage, including UNESCO sites. The route will traverse all five provinces of Campania, passing through Sannio, Irpinia, the Agro Nocerino, and the Amalfi Coast. A key technical challenge will be the climb of Agerola, where a ceremony will honor the legacy of Fausto Coppi.

The event features 124 riders from 18 teams, including World Tour squads such as Jayco AlUla and Movistar. In addition to the professional cycling return, various regional sporting events are taking place, including the Junior Wheelchair International in Massa Lombarda and inclusive football tournaments in Zumpano.
