Samacá receives national road safety excellence award

The municipality of Samacá has been awarded the ‘SIMIT Héctor Taborda Vélez 2026’ National Award for Excellence in Road Safety. The distinction was presented by the Colombian Federation of Municipalities during the National Congress of Transit, Transport, and Mobility held in Cartagena.

The award recognizes Samacá’s management regarding local governance, municipal autonomy, and road safety measures. Representatives from the National Road Safety Agency (ANSV) and the Superintendency of Transport also participated in the event, which allowed municipal authorities to share strategies for reducing traffic accidents and improving mobility for pedestrians and drivers.
