Samajwadi Party to probe Saharanpur mosque demolition

The Samajwadi Party (SP) is sending a 16-member delegation to Saharanpur on September 6 to investigate the demolition of a 119-year-old mosque located within the Saharanpur Collectorate premises. The demolition was carried out on the morning of September 5 following a civil court order.

The Samajwadi Party has raised questions regarding the administration's actions, claiming that district officials had assured them on the evening of September 4 that the mosque would be sealed rather than demolished.

The delegation, led by Lal Bihari Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council, will meet with the Commissioner to gather facts and assess the situation. The group includes several MPs, MLAs, and senior party officials. Following the visit, the delegation will submit a detailed report to the party's state office.
