Samba schools prepare for Carnaval 2027 festivities

Various samba schools are preparing for the 2027 Carnival season. Mocidade Independente de Inhaúma is hosting a community event this Saturday, October 10, featuring a feijoada, samba circles, and a tribute to the school’s Velha Guarda. The event will also include presentations of the samba songs competing for the 2027 parade.

In São Paulo, the school Mancha Verde has released a video clip for its theme song. Following a third-place finish in Grupo de Acesso 1, the school will present the theme ‘Ruth Rocha, a palavra que ensina a criança a voar!’ at the Anhembi Sambadrome on February 7. Developed by carnival designer Rodrigo Meiners, the parade will honor the life and work of the renowned Brazilian children's author and educator Ruth Rocha.
