Sami Zayn regains Undisputed WWE Championship from CM Punk

Sami Zayn has regained the Undisputed WWE Championship after defeating CM Punk during a SmackDown episode held in Mexico City. The match concluded following interference from Kevin Owens, Johnny Gargano, and Candice LeRae, which ultimately led to Zayn securing the victory via a Helluva Kick.

Zayn’s victory has sparked debate regarding his status as a top-tier champion. Analyst Jonathan Coachman questioned whether Zayn possesses the “believable presence” required for a world title, suggesting that not every performer is suited for the role. In response, Zayn defended his position, stating that physical appearance is merely a “tool” and that his ability to connect emotionally with the audience is the true measure of a champion.

Other wrestling figures, such as Matt Hardy, have expressed support for Zayn, noting that he has earned the opportunity for a significant reign. Meanwhile, viewership and search interest for SmackDown have seen fluctuations following the title change.

The upcoming SmackDown episode is scheduled to take place in Corpus Christi, Texas, featuring an appearance by Zayn and an exclusive interview with Cody Rhodes. The event will also include qualifying matches for the Men’s and Women’s Money in the Bank ladder matches.
