Samsun hosts five-day nature camp for people with disabilities
A five-day nature camp for individuals with disabilities and their families was held at the Dereköy Youth Camp in the 19 Mayıs district of Samsun from September 1 to September 5. Coordinated by the Bafra Association for the Visually Impaired and supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the project, titled “Doğayı Geziyoruz, Engelleri Aşıyoruz” (We Explore Nature, We Overcome Obstacles), hosted a total of 149 participants.
The program aimed to encourage active social participation, boost morale and motivation, and provide psychosocial support through various activities. Participants engaged in nature walks, historical and cultural tours, visual arts workshops, and social events. The camp also offered access to a swimming pool and the nearby Black Sea waters.
Bafra Association for the Visually Impaired President Ömer Ergül addressed the participants during a farewell ceremony on the final night, emphasizing the importance of unity and solidarity.
