Samsun launches inclusive science workshops for special needs children
The Samsun Metropolitan Municipality has launched the ‘Inclusive Science Workshops: Discovering Together Project’ to make scientific activities more accessible and engaging for children with special needs.
In collaboration with the Samsun Provincial Health Directorate, the Samsun Provincial Directorate of National Education, and TÜBİTAK, the project operates under the TÜBİTAK 4008 program for inclusive society applications. The initiative is specifically designed for students with mild intellectual disabilities in the second level of special education, as well as their middle school-aged siblings.
Hosted at the Bilim Samsun facilities, the workshops offer a week of activities including design work, scientific demonstrations, and educational games led by expert instructors. The program is entirely free, with the municipality and TÜBİTAK providing all necessary materials, transportation, and meals. The workshops are scheduled to continue until September 25.
