Samsun pide ranks 7th in world's best pies list

Samsun pide has secured a prominent position in the Taste Atlas list of the world’s best pies, ranking 7th globally. Specifically, the Çarşamba variety is recognized as the top-ranked pide in Turkey.

Local culinary experts note that the Samsun region offers various styles, including Bafra and Terme pideleri. While Bafra pide is known for being very crispy and Terme pide for being soft and wide, Çarşamba pide is distinguished by its balanced texture—neither too soft nor too crunchy—and its thin, crispy crust paired with a filling of roasted minced meat, parsley, and black pepper.

The popularity of Çarşamba pide has extended beyond local residents to include various celebrities and public figures who visit the region.
