Samsung ends software support for Galaxy Z Fold 3, Flip 3, and Watch 4
Samsung has officially ended software support for several of its 2021-era devices. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 foldable smartphones have been removed from the company’s security update list, marking the end of their five-year support cycle. These devices will no longer receive security patches to address new vulnerabilities.
Similarly, the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic smartwatches have reached the end of their support lifecycle. As the first Samsung wearables to utilize Google’s Wear OS, these models have completed their promised four generations of major operating system updates. While the watches remain functional for daily tasks like fitness tracking, they will no longer receive new features or security fixes.
Additionally, Samsung has downgraded the update frequency for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4. These 2022 models have moved from a monthly security patch schedule to a quarterly one, signaling they are entering their final year of support. These devices are expected to continue receiving security updates until approximately 2027.
