Samsung Electro-Mechanics secures KRW 1.07 trillion AI server component contract

Samsung Electro-Mechanics has secured a supply agreement worth approximately KRW 1.0722 trillion (roughly USD 780–790 million) with an unnamed major global corporation. The contract is for multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) specifically designed for use in AI servers and will run from January 1, 2027, to December 31, 2027.

This agreement represents the company’s largest MLCC supply contract to date. AI servers require specialized MLCCs to manage high-amplitude current transients and provide noise suppression for GPUs and AI accelerators, often utilizing more than ten times the number of capacitors found in general-purpose servers.

With this deal, Samsung Electro-Mechanics has now entered into long-term supply agreements with more than ten global customers. Since May 2026, the company has announced total long-term contracts for AI-server MLCCs and silicon capacitors valued at approximately KRW 3.32 trillion.
