Samsung Electro-Mechanics secures record $780M AI server component contract

Samsung Electro-Mechanics (SEMCO) has secured a record-breaking long-term supply contract worth approximately 1.072 trillion won (about $780 million) to provide multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCC) for AI servers. The agreement, signed with an undisclosed global corporation, is set to run for one year from January 1 to December 31, 2027.

MLCCs used in AI servers require higher capacity and reliability than standard components because they must operate continuously in high-temperature and high-voltage environments. SEMCO noted that the number of manufacturers capable of producing these high-specification components is limited.

With this latest deal, SEMCO has now entered into long-term supply agreements with more than ten international companies. Since May 2026, the company has accumulated approximately 3.32 trillion won in long-term contracts for silicon capacitors and AI server MLCCs, signaling a strategic shift toward high-value-added products for the growing AI data center market.
