Samsung Electronics launches home EHS heat‑pump boiler in Jeju

Samsung Electronics installed its new EHS heat‑pump boiler at a single‑family house in Aewol, Jeju, and held a plaque ceremony on June 30. The system uses ambient air and electricity to provide indoor heating and domestic hot water, delivering up to 70 °C water even when outdoor temperatures drop to –15 °C. Samsung reports a seasonal performance coefficient (SCOP) of 4.9 at a 35 °C output temperature and 3.78 at 55 °C, meaning the unit generates roughly five times more heat energy than the electricity it consumes. Anti‑freeze heaters and a drain‑heater protect the outdoor unit from freezing. Users can monitor and control the boiler via a touch display or the SmartThings app. Kim Yong‑hoon, Samsung’s Korea head, said the product “offers high heating efficiency and stable high‑temperature water supply” and supports the company’s push to replace fossil‑fuel boilers with electric heating solutions.
