Samsung Electronics updates Samsung Health with sleep and running features
Samsung Electronics has announced a major update to its Samsung Health application, focusing on enhanced sleep coaching and expanded running training capabilities.
The Sleep Coaching feature has been streamlined to require less data for activation. Users can now begin a personalized program using only three days of data collected over the previous two weeks, a reduction from the previous requirement of seven days of data within a month. During setup, users complete a questionnaire regarding sleep regularity, interruptions, caffeine and alcohol consumption, and subjective sleep quality. The app then assigns a personalized ‘Sleep Animal’ and develops a tailored four-to-eight-week coaching program that dynamically adjusts weekly recommendations based on user progress.
Additionally, the Running Coach feature has expanded its training levels from 10 to 12, catering to intermediate and advanced runners based on performance metrics. The update also includes a new partnership with Strava, allowing users to import running, trail running, and cycling routes directly into the Samsung Health platform. These updates are being rolled out progressively starting in October.
