Samsung Health app feature updates

Overview

Samsung Electronics has released updates to its Samsung Health application, primarily focusing on sleep coaching and running training capabilities.

The Sleep Coaching feature has been streamlined to lower the barrier for user participation; the requirement for data collection has been reduced from seven days of data within a month to just three days of data recorded within the last two weeks. The feature utilizes user surveys regarding caffeine, alcohol, and sleep regularity to assign a ‘Sleep Animal’ and provide a tailored four- to eight-week program. New visualization tools, such as a ‘Sleep Balance’ graph, have also been introduced.

For athletic training, the Running Coach feature has expanded from 10 to 12 training levels to support more advanced users. Furthermore, a partnership with Strava now allows users to import routes for running, trail running, and cycling directly into the Samsung Health interface.
