Samsung ends software updates for Galaxy A04s and A23 5G
Samsung has officially ended regular software and security update support for two of its mid-range smartphones, the Galaxy A04s and the Galaxy A23 5G. Both models, which were released in 2022, have been removed from the company’s quarterly security patch schedule as of October 2026.
While the devices remain functional for daily tasks such as messaging, web browsing, and social media, the lack of ongoing security patches poses potential risks. Users may become vulnerable to new security flaws, and sensitive applications like banking or payment services may eventually face compatibility issues due to outdated software versions.
The Galaxy A23 5G reached its final major software version with Android 14, while the Galaxy A04s reached Android 13. Experts suggest that users concerned about long-term security and access to new features may consider upgrading to newer models in the Galaxy A series.
