Samsung has announced that its new Galaxy SmartTag 3 tracker will feature expanded compatibility, moving beyond its previous limitation of working exclusively with Galaxy smartphones. The device will now support iOS devices and a wider range of Android smartphones.

To use the SmartTag 3 with non-Samsung Android devices, users must download the SmartThings and Samsung Find applications from the Google Play Store. This official support replaces the need for unofficial third-party workarounds previously used to operate older tracker models on different hardware.

Availability varies by region: the product is already available in South Korea, while sales in the United States are scheduled to begin in November.
