Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 3 development

Samsung is preparing to launch its next-generation Galaxy SmartTag 3. Following wireless certification from South Korea’s National Radio Research Institute, reports suggested a potential release as early as September.

Subsequent leaks and technical filings have provided more specific details regarding the device. The tracker is expected to feature a redesigned ‘squircle’ or rounded square shape, departing from the pill-shaped design of the previous generation. This new design reportedly lacks an integrated cutout for attachments, which may lead Samsung to sell separate mounting accessories, such as silicone, leather, or bumper cases.

Technical specifications indicate the device will support both Bluetooth LE and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) connectivity. The device is expected to be available in black and white, featuring a central physical button with a metallic finish. A significant potential update is the rumored support for Google’s ‘Find My Device’ network, which would allow the tracker to work with a broader range of Android devices rather than being restricted to the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem.

While an official release date remains unconfirmed, retail listings suggest a launch price of roughly $29.99 in the United States and approximately €28 in Europe, with multi-pack options also anticipated.
