Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 3 design and features leaked

Leaked images and reports suggest Samsung is preparing to launch the Galaxy SmartTag 3, a next-generation object tracker. The device features a significant design shift from the previous pill-shaped SmartTag 2 to a more compact, rounded-square or “squircle” form factor.

Notably, the new design appears to lack the integrated cutout for keyrings or straps found on earlier models. This change suggests that users may need to purchase separate accessories, such as silicone, leather, or bumper cases, to attach the tracker to keys, bags, or pet collars. The device is expected to be available in black and white, featuring a central physical button with a metallic finish.

Technically, the SmartTag 3 is expected to include Bluetooth LE and Ultra Wideband (UWB) connectivity. A significant potential update is the rumored support for Google’s Find My Device network, which would allow the tracker to work with a broader range of Android devices rather than being restricted to the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem. While compatibility with Apple’s Find My system is not expected, the move toward Google's network would increase its utility for non-Samsung Android users.

Expected pricing is reported around $30 in the US and €28 in Europe, with multi-pack options also anticipated. An official announcement from Samsung is expected in the coming weeks or months.
