Samsung Galaxy SmartTag3 features iOS support and new design
Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy SmartTag3, the latest iteration of its Bluetooth tracker. A major update for this model is the introduction of support for iOS devices via the Samsung SmartThings Find app, allowing Apple users to utilize the tracker alongside Galaxy users.
The device features a redesigned, more compact, and rounded “pebble-like” aesthetic. Unlike its predecessor, the SmartTag2, the SmartTag3 lacks an integrated hole for keyrings, potentially requiring users to purchase additional cases or accessories to attach it to keys, bags, or pet collars. This design shift aligns Samsung more closely with the form factors of Apple’s AirTag and Google’s Pixel Tag.
Technical improvements include a smaller, lighter build and an enhanced finding range. The Compass View feature is reported to work from up to 60 metres away on supported Galaxy devices before Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology takes over for precise close-range tracking. The tracker will be available in black and white.
