Samsung Galaxy users face messaging transitions and software bugs

Samsung Galaxy users are facing two distinct software-related challenges. First, confusion has arisen regarding the future of the Samsung Messages application. While reports suggested the app might be discontinued for users on Android 12 or later by July 2026 to favor Google Messages and the RCS protocol, Samsung has clarified that the app remains available via the Galaxy Store. Although it is no longer pre-installed on newer models like the Galaxy S25 series, it continues to receive updates for RCS compatibility.

Users migrating to Google Messages have expressed concerns over the loss of specific organizational features, such as custom chat categories for images, videos, and links.

Separately, a software bug has been reported affecting the Samsung Galaxy home screen. The error causes application folders, particularly larger ones, to shift outside the visible boundaries of the screen. This issue disrupts digital organization and usability, forcing users to manually reposition folders or search for inaccessible shortcuts. A software patch is expected to address this glitch.
