Samsung reaches $500 billion in cumulative mobile exports from Vietnam

Samsung has reached a cumulative mobile phone export milestone of $500 billion in Vietnam. This achievement follows 17 years of production since the company began operations in the country in April 2009.

During a meeting with the Vietnamese Prime Minister, Roh Tae Moon, head of Samsung Electronics' Device eXperience (DX) division, noted that the company's manufacturing bases in Bac Ninh and Thai Nguyen provinces are now responsible for approximately 50% of Samsung's global mobile output. As of the end of 2025, Samsung's cumulative investment in Vietnam has reached $24 billion.

Samsung plans to transition its Vietnamese operations from a primary manufacturing center to a hub for research, development, and cutting-edge technology. The company has committed to increasing R&D investment in the region to support high-tech talent cultivation. Recent financial data shows strong growth for Samsung's Vietnamese entities, with combined sales for four core production legal entities reaching approximately $35.2 billion in the first half of the year, a 21% increase year-on-year.
