Samsung releases August 2026 security update for Galaxy foldable phones

Samsung has begun rolling out its August 2026 security update for several Galaxy foldable devices. The rollout started in South Korea and is expected to expand globally across different regions and carriers.

The update addresses 56 security vulnerabilities and flaws. This includes 8 critical and 30 high-risk vulnerabilities provided by Google, alongside 18 specific fixes developed by Samsung for its own hardware and software. The patch aims to mitigate risks such as spyware and unauthorized data access.

Devices receiving the update include the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6. While the update focuses on security and does not introduce new visual features or major functional changes, users can manually check for the installation via their device settings.
