Samsung releases August 2026 security updates for Galaxy devices

Samsung has begun the global distribution of its August 2026 security updates, addressing a total of 56 vulnerabilities. The patch includes 38 corrections provided by Google for the Android base system and 18 Samsung-specific fixes. Among these, 8 vulnerabilities are classified as critical and 30 are considered high-risk.

The rollout covers a wide range of devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and the Galaxy XCover 7. For the XCover 7, the update (firmware G556BXXSIEZH2) has started appearing in markets such as Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and the Philippines, with further availability expected in other regions soon.

In addition to the firmware updates, Samsung is distributing an 81 MB Google Play System Update (GPSU) and updates for Private Compute Services for devices running One UI 8.5. These updates aim to mitigate risks related to spyware, unauthorized access, and data compromise.
