Samsung begins October 2026 security patch rollout for Galaxy S26 series

Samsung has begun distributing the October 2026 security patch for the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra flagship series. This release marks the first security update following the stable rollout of One UI 9, which is based on Android 17.

The update addresses 62 security vulnerabilities, including approximately 13 fixes from Samsung and nearly 50 from Google. These patches are designed to prevent malicious actors from executing arbitrary code or accessing system privileges without authorization.

Initial reports indicate the update has appeared in the United States and Canada. For the unlocked Galaxy S26 Ultra in the U.S., the update package is approximately 531 MB. While the rollout is currently focused on the S26 lineup, the Galaxy S25 series may receive the patch in the coming week.
