Samsung to end software support for several Galaxy smartphone models

Samsung is approaching the end of software support for several older Galaxy smartphone models, including premium foldable devices and mid-range handsets.

According to reports, the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 completed their Android operating system update cycles in August 2025, though they will continue to receive security patches until August 2026. The Galaxy S22 series—comprising the S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra—is expected to conclude Android version updates in February 2026, with security patches remaining available until February 2027.

Other models potentially facing the end of support in 2027 include the Galaxy S21 FE 5G, Galaxy A53 5G, Galaxy A14, Galaxy Z Fold4, and Galaxy Z Flip4. While these devices will remain functional for standard tasks, they will no longer receive new features or critical security updates, which may increase risks for users performing sensitive activities like mobile banking or managing personal data.
