Samsung TV Plus expands creator-led FAST channels globally
Samsung TV Plus is expanding its lineup of creator-led Free Ad-supported Streaming Television (FAST) channels across several international markets. In Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines, the service has launched ‘Luke Nguyen’s World’. This channel features over 95 episodes from nine series by the Australian-Vietnamese chef and presenter, focusing on food, culture, and travel.
In the United Kingdom, Samsung has partnered with 208 Studios to introduce three new channels: Happy Place, featuring Fearne Cotton’s podcast; Golf Life, from Tubes, Ange, and Jimmy Bullard; and a channel from the news and entertainment brand JOE Media. Additionally, the Mark Rober TV channel, featuring content from the former NASA engineer, has expanded into Brazil and Mexico.
Samsung reports that its TV Plus service currently maintains more than 100 million monthly active users globally. Salek Brodsky, senior VP and global head of Samsung TV Plus, noted that the creator economy is a global phenomenon reshaping how audiences engage with content.
