Samurai Pizza Cats game demo to debut at Tokyo Game Show 2026

A playable demo for the new game ‘Samurai Pizza Cats: Blast from the Past!’ (original title: ‘Kyatto Ninden Teyandee ~Fukkatsu no Nyankee! Yappari Ashita wa Nihonbare!’) will make its world debut at Tokyo Game Show 2026.

Developed by the Dutch studio Blast Zero and distributed globally by the UAE-based Red Dunes Games, the 2D action title is a revival of the 1990 Tatsunoko Production anime. Notably, the game features entirely new animation produced by Blast Zero that aims to faithfully replicate the aesthetic and settings of the original cel-shaded series rather than using repurposed footage.

The voice cast includes returning original actors such as Kappei Yamaguchi and Koichi Yamadera, alongside new additions. Satoru Akahori, the original series composition lead, is also involved in the Japanese script for this demo. The playable demo will be available at the Red Dunes Games booth from September 17 to 21 at Makuhari Messe.
