San Antonio Spurs prepare for Houston Rockets matchup in Austin

The San Antonio Spurs face the Houston Rockets this Friday at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas. Following a 116-104 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder in their season opener, the Spurs aim to avoid an 0-2 start.

Key injury updates for San Antonio include Tobias Harris, who remains out with a strained left calf, and rookie Jayden Quaintance, who is recovering from right knee surgery. De'Aaron Fox and Keldon Johnson are listed as questionable but participated in shootarounds.

The Rockets enter the matchup following a 128-110 victory over the Dallas Mavericks. Houston's roster features Kevin Durant and Jabari Smith Jr., both of whom scored 30 points in their recent win. The game serves as a homecoming for Durant, who previously played at the University of Texas in Austin.

On the Rockets' injury report, Steven Adams is questionable with right calf tightness, and Reed Sheppard is listed as questionable due to left knee concerns.
