San Basso and Diffusioni Festivals impose new safety bans in Italy

In Termoli, the Port Authority issued ordinances for the San Basso celebrations on August 3‑5, restricting vehicle access, pedestrian movement and maritime activities around the Marina di San Pietro. The area within 100 m of the fireworks launch site is closed to traffic, and a 300 m radius at sea is barred to navigation, anchoring, swimming and fishing during specified time windows. Vehicles left in the prohibited zone will be removed.

In Grottammare, Mayor Alessandro Rocchi signed a new ordinance on August 3 that lifts the ban on glass bottles and cans for that evening only, after the first night of the Diffusioni Festival was cancelled. The restrictions on glass and metal containers remain in force for the evenings of August 4‑6, requiring drinks to be served in paper or plastic cups and prohibiting public consumption of beverages in glass or cans outside authorized venues.
